Support Group Information

First Steps for the Blind offers a monthly support group for its clients. The meetings are in an informal setting and are not extremely large. Due to the increase in our clients, we now have two meetings per month. One is on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and the other is on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The Thursday meetings are now at 1:00 pm. These are not pity parties but a sharing of information, frustrations and problem solving together. Usually there is some new adaptive aid or new information that we share with you. You will make friends as well as learn and receive emotional support from people who have been through what you are experiencing. We are not professional therapists, just know what it is like and are glad to help. If you are interested in attending a support group meeting you are certainly welcome to bring your spouse or a family member with you. Please call the First Steps office and we will give you all the necessary details including directions.

Winter Weather

If the weather is icy, snowy, or just too cold we will likely cancel the meeting. Please call before you leave home to find out.
